Everybody at home



I think that the wood has the ability to remember. That in its old hatched fibers there is the past recorded, an imprint of all the ancestors who had been touching it every day. This bench was always full. It used to hold my family for five generations. One piece where they were all meeting, talking, growing up and aging. I am adding a new seat to it, for me or for the one who may listen to the story.

It's a small challenge. How to dignify the object, underline it on one hand and to maintain a function and functionality on the other. To see and feel its weight, strenght and worth. The work is a part of the collection Lost & Found by Vitra of the project Flowers for Slovakia.
